Potomac Teams Open Bass Tournaments
For more than three decades the Potomac Teams Tournament has been
a fixture on the Potomac River. The one-day tournament is an open format and
brings together bass anglers across the region for a friendly
competition. You choose your own partner and each team consists of one boater
and a non-boater. There is a five-bass limit per team and the heaviest weight
determines the tournament champion. Each tournament is held
at Pohick Bay Regional Park,
6501 Pohick Bay Drive, Lorton, VA.

Bob Pettey is the tournament director and a
long-time friend of Potomac Bassmasters. Even though Potomac Teams Tournament
is not a club event, our members often participate and we help promote the
tournament via our web site.
There are two ways to register
for a tournament.

- On-site registration. Arrive at
the tournament site 60 minutes before the start time
- Five (5) bass limit

Format
- Open tournament format
- Total fee per team: $100 (Includes $10 Lunker fee)

$20.00 per team Park Insurance Fee Required
- Each team covers their own boat launch
fee
- No annual dues or membership fees
- FIVE fish limit per team
- No culling of dead fish
- NEW HOURS: 6:00am or SAFE LIGHT,NLT 6:30am till-3:00pm
Special Time Oct 9 Starts at 7:00am
- Tournament hours can be changed at the
discretion of the tournament director
- A tournament may be cancelled or
postponed if a small craft advisory is issued. Such a decision is at the
sole discretion of the tournament director.

All live wells must be inspected by a tournament official
prior to start

Minimum fish length: 15 inches March 1 through June
15; 13 inches thereafter

Rules available at site

Polygraph test will be given to tournament winners
- Results/standings are published after
each event
- Each participant is responsible for
operating their boat in a safe manner and abiding by all applicable rules,
regulations and having a valid fishing license(s)
